Oštro – Center for Investigative Journalism in the Adriatic Region – is a non-profit media organisation set up as an institute. It is financed from funds acquired through public tenders and calls, operating activities, contributions, and donations. After paying the expenses incidental to Oštro’s operations, any surplus of acquired funds is channeled back into journalism and the Center's development.
The principles of publication of Oštro’s financing data
Oštro will publish the data about acquired funds on its website in a timely manner as possible. At the end of the financial year, the data on the association’s expenses and income from operating activities will also be published.
The names of individuals whose voluntary contributions help Oštro continue to pursue quality journalism will not be made public. The names of contributors will be published solely at their express request or if their overall annual contribution will exceed Oštro’s estimated monthly expenses (> EUR 6,000).
The names of companies whose donations help Oštro to maintain its operations will be published if their overall donations will exceed one tenth of Oštro’s estimated monthly expenses (> EUR 600).
The overall amount of personal contributions of all Oštro’s founders will always be made publicly available.
Any derogation from the above principles will be explained to the public.
